The story of Arch Wing is the following: in the not too distant future crime is now the biggest problem. All the prisons are full of all the scum of the Universe. The situation is desperate until a new punishment is introduced: the Gauntlet.

The Gauntlet is applied when a prisoner escapes by flying their spaceship fast through three holes, combating hundreds of enemy ships. If you manage to reach the end then you get your freedom; if not, you die. The start of Arch Wing begins when you are condemned to run the Gauntlet. If you want to survive and gain your freedom, then you must fight and kill all the other enemy ships.

So you must fly skilfully, avoid asteroids, kill the enemy etc, all at crazy speeds. For Arch Wing to work correctly you need to first install DirectX 9.0 or later.
